(Original Caption) White House Bowling Alleys Moved Across Street. Washington, D.C.: The bowling alleys installed in the White House while Harry Truman was president have been removed and are being set up in the basement of the old State Department building across the street from the presidential mansion. The $5,000 twin alleys were removed to make room for additional office space. Photo shows two workmen installing the alleys in their new location.
