This glorious and majestic Parisian image comes from one of the most beautiful and iconic bridges in the world, where 4 golden statues on top of massive granite pylons are allegorical representations of Industry, Commerce, Science and the Arts. The Beaux-Arts style bridge, with its exuberant Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs, nymphs and winged horses was design by architects Joseph Cassien-Bernard and Gaston Cousin. It opened just in time for the Universal Exposition of 1900 together with several structures that still stand today, like the Gare d’Orsay, the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais and has been classified as a French monument historique since 1975.
