George Best final interview; ENGLAND:INTRodney Marsh (Talk Sport radio presenter) introducing George Best SOTGeorge Best (Footballer) interview (wearing headphones, sitting next to Rodney marsh) SOT- (Jokes about 'revolving studs') That's Warren Beatty / I'm rubbish, I might pack in halfway through / I've got a cough, bit of a cold / Talks about great side - we played with five forwards / Manchester in those days was phenomenal, not only football, but music, fashion - great time to be around Manchester / I was heavily into clothes, my sideline / One (boutique) was called Edwardia - (Asked if he was David Beckham of his era) I suppose so, up until I came along the press weren't that interested in what footballers did off field - that changed in 60s and 70s / It has become million times worse, girlfriends, wives, friends followed 24 hours a day - under microscope / Only problem is they don;t want to write about football with me - I haven't played in 30 years and they still chase me around- Press in this country build you up and think they can knock you down, think they're entitled to / Almost daily I do charity work, things behind the scenes, they never mention that because it doesn't sell newspapers / They don't write that I went to handicapped school or opened community offices - they'd rather write about me falling out of a pub, brawls / In old days you could talk to newspaper guys, they'd come on trips, you could say what you wanted / Now you can't even dream about talking to them / Problem is they think they're entitled to talk, that you owe them, but of course you don't / That's why they don't like Alex Ferguson, because he doesn't suffer fools lightly, he doesn't want to talk to them, so he's a bad guy - (Asked about Wayne Rooney) He's doing himself no favours, stupid things he's getting pulled for / Referees are only human, sort of (laughs), and they're going to be looking out for him now / No good for fans, supporters, manager, club / He'...
