'St Martin's Dream', 14th century. St Martin of Tours (c316-397), Hungarian-born soldier and saint. He gave half his coat to a beggar in Amiens on a winter's night, then dreamt he saw Christ sleeping in the portion he had given away. He was baptised and became a monk and was Bishop of Tours.
