MADRASAH RAHMANIYAH, KLANG, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA - 2017/12/01: Abdul Hafiz (10) and another Rohingya child refugees seen playing soccer barefooted at the Madrasah Rahmaniyah. Almost everyone knows about the Rohingya refugee crisis which started in 1982 when the Myanmar government denied citizenship to ethnic Rohingya. Nowadays, most of the refugees live in neighbouring countries under the protection of the United Nation High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR). Malaysia has accepted some 60,000 Rohingya refugees, of which many are children. In Malaysia most Rohingya parents sent their children to the madrasah because they want them to get an education and have the opportunity of having a better life. The Madrasah is maintained by Rohingya parents association and is assisted by several Islamic religious associations in the country.
