Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson asks Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo at his nomination hearing about the historical tragedy that Vladimir Putin had taken Russia down its path, Pompeo responding he took Putin at his word that the greatest failure of the 20th century was dissolution of the Soviet Union, that Putin sought to regain and maintain power by poking America and being perceived as a superpower. Johnson says to fully engage with Europe and anywhere Russia was pushing and being aggressive, Pompeo a green, adding Russia was adventuresome in Latin America and should be pushed back and confronted by every vector of cyber, economic and otherwise.
