Office chair riders cover 22 km in 2 hours to win 90 kg of Yamagata rice

Video footage shows “riders” in action as they compete on caster-equipped office chairs during a two-hour endurance race in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture, on Sept. 16. Participants from Yamagata, Niigata and Ibaraki prefectures, in 11 teams of three, joined in on the Isu-1 Grand Prix, propelling themselves with their legs along a 200-meter course at a maximum speed of around 20 kph.
