The term ghat refers to a series of steps leading down to a body of water, particularly a holy river. This is such a ghat, a bath and worship place, on the banks of river Yamuna in Mathura, India. Mathura is the birthplace of Krishna at the centre of Braj or Brij-bhoomi, called Shri Krishna Janma-Bhoomi, literally: 'Lord Krishna's birthplace'.
