African immigrant families face foreclosure in Spanish suburb

(GERMANY OUT) September 19, 2012, Cuidad de Los Angeles, Madrid, Spain. It is estimated that 120 foreclosures are practiced by banks and local authorities each day in Spain. For many of these owners it is a life of fear and humiliation. In the Southern Madrid suburb of Los Angeles where thousands of African families live the situation is equally as bad. It is the case for the mariko family from Nigeria who has been living in Spain for 12 years, and now without a job they are surviving to meet ends meet.
