Spanish Refugees Traveling on Foot to French Territory

(Original Caption) Le Perthus, France: Weary Refugees Pour Into France. A seemingly endless line of weary and discouraged men, women and children stream to the French frontier here, carrying their scanty possessions, in the great exodus from Spain after the fall of Barcelona. Mobile Guards, some of the thousands ordered to the frontier, are shown halting the leaders of the forlorn procession before allowing them to enter France. The French Government has ordered heavy reinforcements of troops and mobile guards to the frontier to suppress unrest and possible revolt among the more than 200,000 interned refugees and troops.
