TORONTO, ON- MAY 20 - Natasha Danchenko, an aerialist specializing in silks maintains her strength by training on the backyard swing set of her home as the Toronto arts community is thrown into chaos as Torontonians are encouraged to maintain physical distance to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Toronto. May 20, 2020. Born in Moscow and having immigrated to Canada as a child, Natasha studied at The National Ballet School and graduated from the School of American Ballet in New York City. Following, Natasha danced with the Stanford City Ballet, American Ballet Company, Royal Swedish Ballet and The Phantom of the Opera. In 1999, Natasha developed a passion for circus arts and switched her focus to working as a professional aerialist. Specializing in silks, corde lisse and partnering, Natasha has extensive experience performing on various other apparatuses, including hand to hand. Her work has been featured at the Nobel Peace Prize Conference (Oslo, Norway 05) on various stages throughout Asia, Scandinavia and North America, in major motion pictures, TV, commercials, magazines and Cirque du Soleil talent roster. In 2012, Natasha founded and co-created a Toronto based aerial showcase Aer Time, which is now in its fifth season. 2016 saw Natasha and colleague Renee Pugh join forces, which led to the creation of Air Artistry Entertainment company.
