Composer - Mark Petrie
Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark Petrie traveled to the US after winning a scholarship to study film scoring at Berklee College of Music. Chosen as one of the recipients of the Pete Carpenter Fellowship in 2004, he moved to Los Angeles to work with the TV music icon Mike Post.
In recent years Mark has enjoyed a steady stream of film scoring assignments in a wide range of genres including the 2008 releases: Valley of Angels, a suspense thriller starring Danny Trejo (Sin City); Mr Blue Sky, a drama starring Richard Karn (Home Improvement); Farmhouse, a modern psychological horror starring Kelly Hu (X2, The Scorpion King) and Steven Weber (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Brothers and Sisters); and Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse, a black comedy starring Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen (Super Bad, Knocked Up).
In addition to his work in film, Mark’s music is used every day in television, all over the world. In fact, over 60 shows have used Mark’s music over the past 5 years.
Today Mark works out of his West LA studio with his wife Gina, composing for projects from all over the world.
