Protests against ride-booking app Uber turned violent on June 25 in France, as Taxi drivers in France are furious over an Uber service called UberPOP, which puts customers in touch with private drivers at prices lower than those of traditional taxis. The French Interior minister Cazeneuve said on June 25 the UberPop vehicles must be seized when caught in the act, and that the UberPop service is illegal in France.
