YUKI, IBARAKI-KEN, JAPAN - 2016/11/20: Silk Thread - Yuki tsumugi is silk using techniques that have been in use since the 8th century. All the work is done by hand, including spinning and weaving producing silk with a uniquely rough texture. It is only fabric in the world not reinforced by twisting, as it is woven on looms that have been used for over 1500 years using woof and warp technique.. This unique Japanese silk is made only in Yuki, Ibaraki, Japan. Yuki is a fertile region near the Kinu River and has a long history of sericulture.
