TURKEY-KURDS-UNREST-FRANCE-CRIME
Thousnands of people follow the coffin of late Kurdish activist Sakine Cansiz, shot dead in the French capital, during the funeral on January 18, 2013 in Tunceli, her hometown in the Kurdish majority southeast of Turkey. People gathered inTunceli, to pay a final tribute to Sakine Cansiz who was assassinated in Paris last week. The growing crowd of participants, men and women adorned in white scarves, a symbol of peace, marched in a funeral many in Turkey feared would turn into a violent protest. The three women, one of them Sakine Cansiz, a co-founder of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), were found fatally shot, at least three times in their heads, at a Kurdish centre in Paris last week. French police were hunting the unknown assailants. AFP PHOTO/BULENT KILIC (Photo credit should read BULENT KILIC/AFP via Getty Images)
