Old Jetty The Dolphins, Lepe Beach - Fotografía de stock
Was hoping for a good sunrise through the old World War II jetty piles at Lepe Beach things wasnt looking promising but just at the right time for a few short minutes the sun shone through a gap in the clouds. The remains are from the old jetty at the WW2 site used for the construction of concrete caissons which were used to create the mulberry harbour coastline for the Normandy landings. Plus P.L.U.T.O ran from here to the Isle of Wight, then from there to France to pump the vital fuel used in the war effort.
